what is noise? is the interruption we hear in the silence of the night? or is it the possibily that allows us to overcome the dominance of pitch in music?
is it something strange? or is it a tool to play and shout among the realm of tradition?
in this program ruído blanco explores this questions through the music of two composers whose work they admire and had the pleasure to work with.

Matthias Müller (*1998)
softly, the threads of night whisper (2025), version for guitar, percussion, fan and a CD player
A recording of the night, taken at a quiet place near the performance venue. Twelve minutes of nightly silence burned onto a CD. What remains is noise: The soft noise of a street, the wind, water pipes or ventilation systems. But sometimes, a tone may appear, pulled out like a thread from the dimmed sound of the night, whispering in the muted dark.
Michael Maierhof (*1956)
splitting 76.3 (2025)
In splitting 76.3, the musical material of the electric guitars is very reduced, the tuned sonic motor blocks permanently set the strings in vibration (which the guitarist usually has to do) and the players mainly shape the sound via the guitar infrastructure (EQ,pick ups), side damping and motor controls. The most important is that the guitarists have their hands free to control the light layer, which is actually notated like a percussion part. Ultimately, the light layer is much more complex than the sound and forms the necessary counterpoint to the continuous guitar sound. Therefore, splitting 76.3 is a duo with four voices, being actually musicwise already a quartet.
